Frank’s Nursery closing happened today– we no longer own property on Dobbs Ferry Road
Release Date: December 14, 2017

FRANK’S NURSERY CLOSING TODAY—WE NO LONGER OWN PROPERTY ON DOBBS FERRY ROAD

Finally!  The Town no longer owns Frank’s Nursery. We recently sold Frank’s Nursery to Capitol Seniors Housing for $3,525,000. The new owners will soon begin construction on an attractive looking assisted living facility for seniors. The design and other aspects of the proposal was aided by input from civic leaders and residents during the related land use applications. The three story building will be set back into the site from Dobbs Ferry Road and was designed with considerable landscaping. The project will include a sidewalk along the site’s frontage with Dobbs Ferry Road. The Town is responsible for $1,899, 283 towards the remediation of contaminants at this site. We will also be generating revenue from building permit fees and from property taxes and won’t have the liability that goes with maintaining abandoned property. By law- the town was also responsible for paying the school district and county the taxes owed to them.

The closing took place  today. We expect that the remediation of the contaminants will begin shortly.  Very exciting news!
